A Grand Vesak Ceremony

Zhulin Temple holds a grand Vesak Ceremony - Buddha Bathing Ceremony and Buddhist liturgy led by Venerable Master Jiewen Shi.

Vesak, also known as Vesakha or Buddha Purnima, is one of the most important festivals in Buddhism. It commemorates the birth, enlightenment (nirvana), and death (Parinirvana) of Gautama Buddha, the founder of Buddhism.

One of the central rituals of Vesak is the 'Bathing the Buddha' ceremony, where devotees pour water over statues of the Buddha, symbolizing purification and renewal. This act is inspired by the legend of the Buddha's birth when heavenly beings are said to have bathed him with holy water.

Vesak is a deeply meaningful and spiritually enriching festival for Buddhists worldwide, emphasizing the life and teachings of the Buddha and promoting values of compassion, mindfulness, and inner peace.
